CONVENIENCE COURT
WHAT IS CONVENIENCE TRAFFIC COURT?
Convenience Court is intended to assist by allowing those drivers to appear
in court at a more convenient time than their assigned first appearance.
drivers who received a petty traffic violation and wish to request court supervision.
Drivers who received a compliance violation (no insurance card, no insurance,
expired registration/sticker, no valid driver's license, etc.)
IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE:
CONVENIENCE TRAFFIC COURT
CANNOT BE USED BY DRIVERS WHO
HAVE RECEIVED A TRAFFIC VIOLATION
DUE TO A VEHICLE ACCIDENT
WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE, WITH AN
INDIVIDUAL OR WITH PROPERTY.
WHEN IS CONVENIENCE TRAFFIC COURT HELD?
Convenience Traffic Court is held every Friday at noon in the Sangamon County Building,
Courtroom 6C. (When necessary for accessibility purposes, Convenience Traffic Court
may be held in Courtroom 5A. If this change occurs, a notice will be posted on the doors
of Courtroom 6C providing redirection to Courtroom 5A.
DO I HAVE TO BE SCHEDULED
OR CAN I JUST WALK IN?
Depending on your case type, you may need to be scheduled for Convenience
Traffic Court in order to be seen. See the disclaimer points below for more
information or to determine your eligibility.

DISCLAIMER/ IMPORTANT POINTS
Convenience Traffic Court is held every Friday from noon to 1:00 pm.
It is held in Courtroom 6C unless otherwise posted for Courtroom 5A for
purposes of accessibility. You cannot sign up or appear for Convenience
Traffic Court if your citation has not been filed with the Circuit Clerk's
Office by the ticketing officer/agency. To find out if your citation has been
in advance. If you are seventeen (17) years of age or younger, you must
appear with a parent/guardian.
Not all cases are eligible to be heard
during Convenience Traffic Court.
Misdemeanor traffic, DUI violations and
criminal misdemeanors are all excluded
from the Convenience Court option,
and your case will not be heard other
than on the assigned first appearance date.
The court reserves the right to hear cases at its own discretion.
The Circuit Clerk Lookup System may be
unavailable periodically for maintenance.
All fees collected by the Circuit Clerk are mandated by law.
